Hypothetically Speaking

Hypothetically Speaking with Jasen T.

Every episode is a legal hypothetical told as a story. We reason through it together, find the “right” answer, and change one fact to turn it all around. Try one.

Dana is reading by the community pool when a stranger starts struggling in the deep end. A life ring hangs on the fence three feet from Dana's chair. Dana keeps reading. Someone else eventually pulls the swimmer out, but not before he's seriously hurt.

The swimmer sues Dana for negligence. What's the most likely outcome?

Season 1 premieres

Two episodes drop on premiere day, then a new one every Thursday. Follow the show wherever you listen so the first hypothetical is waiting for you.

Your host

Jasen T. is an entertainment lawyer, filmmaker, and civic storyteller based in Los Angeles. He makes the show for anyone curious about how the law works: smart non-lawyers, law students, bar takers, and attorneys who miss a good classroom argument.

The goal isn't partisan debate. It's the fun of a thought experiment with a friend who happens to know the rules.
